Ira
Fox, MD, DABPM, FIPP, ABIPP
Dr. Fox founded Anesthesia
Pain Care Consultants in June 1996. He has spent more than
20 years treating patients with acute and chronic pain. Dr.
Fox attended medical school at the U.A. of Guadalajara in
Guadalajara, Mexico and is bilingual. He completed his
medical education at State University of NY at Stony Brook,
NY. Dr. Fox did his residency in anesthesiology at Monmouth
Medical Center in NJ where he was Chief Resident.
Dr. Fox maintains the
following board certifications: American Board of
Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP); World Institute of
Pain – Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP);
American Board of Pain Medicine; and the American Board of
Anesthesiology with added certification in Pain Management.
Dr. Fox serves as an examiner for the FIPP Board
Certification. As an Examiner he observes applicants
performing procedures and assesses their techniques. He is
also a member of the World Institute of Pain Advisory Board.
Most recently he was elected
“America’s Top Physician” by the Pain Management Consumers’
Research Council of America, and listed as a Top Doctor in
Broward County by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. Anesthesia
Pain Care Consultants has won the South Florida Business
Journal Award for Excellence in Health Care in 2008. Dr. Fox
has been published, lectures internationally as a pain
specialist, provides expert witness testimony and has had

Cuneyt
Ozaktay, MD
Dr. Ozaktay joined Anesthesia Pain Care
Consultants in July 2008. He attended medical school at
University of Istanbul, Cerrahpasa Medical School. He
received his degree in anesthesiology ay Wayne State
University, Detroit Medical School in Michigan and completed
a fellowship in pain management at Dartmouth-Hitchcock
Medical Center.
Dr. Ozaktay was named Pain Awareness
Ambassador this year. He has been honored by the Tuck School
of Business Administration for the “Medical Care and The
Corporation Course” and for being a lecturer at the
Dartmouth Medical School Pain Management Education Day for
his course on “Low Back Pain, Translational Research,
Animals to Humans or vice versa.”
Dr. Ozaktay is a member of numerous
organizations including the American Pain Society, American
Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of
Anesthesiologists. He has done extensive research on pain
management been published in several orthopedic and
neuroscience medical journals. Dr. Ozaktay is a noted
lecturer, and has held various teaching appointments
throughout his career.
Winston
Parris,MD, DABPM
Dr. Parris is a pain
specialist who has been treating patients at Anesthesia Pain
Care Consultants since September 2003. He now serves as our
Director of Clinical Research. He most recently accepted the
position as Professor of Anesthesia and Chief of the Pain
Programs at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North
Carolina.
Dr. Parris attended medical
school at the University of the West Indies in Kingston,
Jamaica and completed his residency in anesthesiology as the
Chief Resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in
Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Parris was a founding
member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. He was also
a founding member and served as President of the American
College of Pain Medicine, the American Board of Pain
Medicine and the Tennessee Pain Society. Most notably, Dr.
Parris served as President of the World Society of Pain
Clinicians, developing pain clinics in Africa, Latin
American, the Caribbean, the Far East and Eastern Europe. He
founded the Vanderbilt Pain Control Center and served as
their Medical Director for fifteen years.
Dr. Parris received the
Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and
St. George (CMG) for his service and accomplishments in the
field of Pain Medicine from the Queen of England. In
addition to lecturing extensively, he has published three
books and written well over a hundred scientific articles.
Kianfa
Martinez, MD
Dr. Kianfa Martinez joined Anesthesia Pain
Care Consultants in July, 2010. Dr. Martinez joins as an
interventional pain physician, and is part of the dedicated
staff of physicians and healthcare professionals committed
to reducing or eradicating pain at the Tamarac office.
Prior to joining Anesthesia Pain Care
Consultants, Dr. Martinez completed her Pain Management
Fellowship at the Department of Anesthesiology &
Perioperative Medicine, Medical College of Georgia. She
earned her MD from St. George University School of Medicine,
University Centre in Grenada, West Indies.
Dr. Martinez is a member of the American Society of
Anesthesiologists, the American Pain
Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain
Physicians. Dr. Martinez is fluent in
several languages such as English, French and having been
raised in Miami she is also fluent
in Spanish.
